What is the timeframe for the Websense School Agreement?
The Ministry of Education has an agreement with Websense through to 30 June 2013.
What schools are covered by the Agreement?
Websense and Surf Control licenses are currently allocated to schools under the previous agreement.
What software is included in the Agreement?
The products available are as follows:
Websense Web Security
You have the choice of two Websense Email Security Solutions.
Websense Email Security – on premise software or Websense Hosted Email Security – which as the name suggests is a Hosted “in the cloud” service or SaaS.
How do I register to renew and upgrade my schools existing licensing?
Register for new license keys by contacting websense.mailbox@minedu.govt.nz
You will need to provide:
- School name
- Primary contact
- Existing license keys
- Current number of users
- The number of licenses required
- Your preference for on-premise or hosted websense email security.
How does my school migrate from Surf Control to Websense products?
Your school will need to plan migration from on-premise Surf Control to on-premise Websense Web Security and either on-premise or hosted Websense Email Security products. For further information about migrating Surf Control to Websense please contact us at websense.mailbox@minedu.govt.nz.
Who will be providing technical support for schools?
Websense Support will be providing ongoing technical support. Further details of how to contact support and the process for upgrading your software will be supplied upon completion of registration details.
